William Bradley Obituary

On Tuesday, February 16th, as night came to an end and with his wife by his side, William Bradley passed through Heaven’s gates. Though his body weak and tired, Bill’s spirit was abundantly strong in kindness, humor, compassion, love, devotion to his family, and being a mighty witness for Christ. He was a student of scripture. Often times, sleepy-eyed grandchildren would catch a glimmer of excellence at 4:30 A.M. when grandpa would be sitting at the dining room table drinking coffee, all the while studying God’s word.

With Bill around, shortage of laughter was nonexistent. Quick wittedness came with ease. Jokes came from a good place. Story telling came to life. “The Adventures of Frank and Bob” still bring warm smiles and fond memories to friends and family who spent countless summer nights with him gathered around campfires.

In 1984, William met the love of his life, Melody (Wixson). These two solidified their relationship getting married on August 16th, 1986. Together they made their home in Alanson, MI where they raised their four children: John McClellan, Dominic McClellan, Angeline (Ryan) Roberts, and Will Bradley. The love and laughter in this home later entertained their grandchildren: Kayleigh, Kenny, Jaxon, Tori, and Gabby

His joys in life was the family he guided and the church he attended. Bill was never too tired to pass up on a game of catch. Never too busy to volunteer free time for coaching and calling. He and his wife faithfully attended Northern Michigan Baptist Bible Church (NMBBC) for over 30 years. There he sang in the church choir, taught adult Sunday school, and served as a deacon.

Bill was a true friend to all. He cared about people and so we, his family, ask that if you would like to honor Bill in some way; help your neighbor, attend church, speak to that stranger, in some way pass on an act of kindness. That is how he lived his life and we know he would be pleased

In addition to being survived by his wife, their 4 children and 5 grandchildren, William was also survived by his brother Ken Bradley; sisters Jane Elliot and Cathy Weisenauer; many nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents Carl Bradley and Betty Bradley; brother, Mike Bradley; grandson, Michael William Bradley; and by his in-laws,  Clyo and Gladys Wixson.

Funeral services will be held virtually on NMBBC’s Pastor Rusty Chatfield’s facebook homepage February 25th, at 6:30 P.M. Cards can be sent to NMBBC or Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. The family asks that flowers be sent at a later time once burial date has been set.
