William "Bill" Conti

William "Bill" Conti was taken away from us suddenly. He passed away peacefully on the morning of April 22, 2022, at the age of 81 in his hometown of Petoskey, Michigan. Despite these medical issues, Bill was still able to show his personality to his surrounding loved ones, continuing to make others smile in his last remaining days.

Bill was born October 3, 1940, to father Joseph Blaze Conti M.D. and mother Satie Ann Turcott. He unknowingly met the love of his life in elementary school, Judith Anne Beer. They came together in high school and got married on June 21st, 1960. They had two children, whom Bill was so proud of, Joseph William Conti and Richard James Gerard Conti. Bill was so supportive of his boys throughout their active lifestyle in sports and bodybuilding, helping them to achieve more than they believed possible.

Bill loved his family and friends more than anything. His work ethic and desire to care for his family led him to work for Parker Motor Freight for 40 years until retirement. He worked with a lot of classmates at Parkers and thought the world of all his drivers. Bill often went out for coffee at the Casino with friends and was always the life of the party. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Bill always strived to make others smile with his unforgettable personality and contagious laughter. There is no way you could be sad around him; his sense of humor would not allow for it. He was characterized by his selflessness and encouraged others to live their lives to the fullest. His love for life is survived by his wife Judith, his sons and their wives, Joe and Trish as well as Rich and Katie, his siblings and their spouses Susie and Lorin, Patrick (the late Lynnetta), Colleen and Jim, Peter and Beth, Tim and Amanda, John and Kimberly, Tara and Don, and his grandchildren Gerard and Selena, and multiple nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother and his sister-in-law, Tom and Jeanne Conti.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Charlevoix County Humane Society, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A memorial service for Bill will be officiated by Rev. David Behling on May 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Stone Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 1:00 PM.
