William "Billy" Avery Wicker, Jr.

William A. Wicker Jr. “Billy,” 55, of Boyne Falls, Michigan passed away on Friday, August 8th, 2025, surrounded by family at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan.  

Billy was born on April 11th, 1970, to William and Sherryl (Miller) Wicker at Charlevoix Hospital. Billy attended Boyne City Public Schools and graduated in 1988. He stayed in the Boyne City area after graduation, taking a few classes through North Central Michigan College and was later employed by Control Engineering/Daifuku.  

On August 4, 2007, he married the love of his life, Shawntle Snoeck at an intimate ceremony in Boyne Falls surrounded by family and friends during the Polish Festival. Billy and Shawntle made their home in Boyne Falls and on August 4, 2017, they renewed their vows.  

Billy left a lasting impact on all those who knew him. He will fondly be remembered by family and friends for his contagious smile, witty comebacks and love for those he shared so many memories with.  

He loved hunting, fishing and camping. Billy also enjoyed watching football and NASCAR. 

Billy is survived by his daughters: Sarah (Christian) Benedetti and Emily Benedetti both of East Jordan, his mother: Sherryl Wicker of Boyne City, his sister; Stacy (Ted) Wicker of Indian River and his niece; Madison Moore of Boyne City, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.  

Billy was proceeded in death by his wife; Shawntle, his father; William A. Wicker Sr., and his grandparents; Burton & Juanita Miller and Obie & Mary Wicker. 

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place, and a memorial service will be officiated by Rev. David Behling and held on August 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City. The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 PM to the time of service.  

The family requests memorial donations be directed to Munson Hospital of Traverse City/Hospice for their compassion and care of Billy.
