Wilma Christine Kuebler, age 84, of Alanson, Michigan, passed away surrounded by family on October 26, 2025, at American House in Petoskey.
Wilma, the daughter of Ernest and Wanda (Lutz) Kuebler, was born in Petoskey on November 10, 1940. Wilma graduated from Alanson High School, Jewett Career School in East Lansing, and Lansing Business University in Lansing, and was a member of the American Society of Women Accountants. She was employed with Pioneer Insurance Company in Lansing, served as Credit Manager of Sears in Petoskey, was employed at the Pellston Regional Airport as accountant and assistant to the manager, and was assistant to the Emmet County finance department. Wilma enjoyed working with the people of Emmet County. She retired in 2010 after 39 years of service.
Wilma liked all animals and nature and was very fond of horses, which she rode in her youth. She loved watching the wildlife on her property. She had many nieces and nephews and spent many pleasant hours with them.
Wilma’s favorite sports were basketball, bowling, horseback riding, and watching football. She enjoyed photography, art, music, poetry, and many other hobbies. She enjoyed spending time and traveling with friends, especially Rose and Ray Thompson. She was always interested in learning new things and enjoyed reading whenever possible. Her favorite month was September, when the leaves changed their colors.
Wilma is survived by her siblings, Doris Budnik of Brutus and Wayne Kuebler of Engadine; nieces and nephews: Jackie (John) Foye, Bob Budnik, niece-in-law Carol Budnik, Brian (Leslie) Budnik, Charlie (Heather) Budnik, Zeke (Tracy) Budnik, Sonya (Thom) Podolan, Sandy (Scott) Richmond, and Kathy (John) Fox; many great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; as well as many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law Phil Budnik and sister-in-law Georgianna Kuebler; a nephew, Tom Budnik; and a great-great-nephew, Brooks Budnik.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Salvation Army or Little Traverse Bay Humane Society.
A graveside service will be held at the Littlefield Township Cemetery in Alanson in the spring of 2026 on a date to be announced. Stone Funeral Home of Petoskey is assisting the family.
