Yvonne Marie (Elzinga) Karlskin

Yvonne Marie Karlskin, 83, of Boyne City, Michigan, died on December 24, 2025, surrounded by family in her home.

Yvonne was born on June 15, 1942, in Ironton, Michigan, to Lawrence Laverne Elzinga and Margery (Marge) Scott. She graduated East Jordan High School becoming a stay-at-home wife and mother. She shared her life with James Glenn Karlskin, her husband. In her spare time, Yvonne enjoyed crafting, quilting, hanging out with her grandkids and, later, great grandkids. She was a member of the Northern Michigan Cancer Crusaders.

Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Tim) Roback, and two step-daughters, Chris Karlskin and Gail (David) Molby; nine grandchildren: Nick Karlskin, Jeremy Karlskin, Justin Molby, David (Amber) Powers, Trista (Richard Idolski) Karlskin, James (Ericka Bennett) Thompson, Allan (Angie) Thompson, John Paul (Alyssa) Thompson, Timothy (Sarah Holland) Roback; great-grandchildren: Grace, Payton, Alivia, Charlie, Wyatt, Bristol, Leighlynn, Luca, and Zadie; and special friends John and Helen Thompson

Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband James; her parents, Lawrence and Marge; as well as her in-laws; one son Donny; and stepchildren, Jimmy, Diane, Kathy, David.

A celebration of life will take place May 23, 2026, at Yvonnes home in Advance, Michigan from 2 – 5pm.

Memorial donations may be sent to the caretakers at Munson Hospice in Traverse City.
