David Huzek Obituary

David Jon Huzek, 80, of Petoskey, passed away peacefully at Hiland Cottage on March 21, 2023.

David was born June 21, 1942, in Petoskey to George “Pete” and Vera (Bradley) Huzek.

David is survived by three children, Mark (Melissa) Huzek of Montana, Kelly (Terry) Derenzy of East Jordan and Todd Huzek of Boyne Falls; his sister Peggy (James) Brecheisen of Petoskey; four grandchildren, Jamie Fortune, Chad Fortune, Nick Huzek and Allie Huzek; and two great-grandchildren, twins Isaac and Kalob Fortune.

Per his wishes there will be no services. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be scattered at Greenwood Cemetery Scatting Garden overlooking Little Traverse Bay in the spring.

A sincere thank you to all the staff at Hiland Cottage for the excellent care they gave our Dad and brother.
