Joyce M. (Hungerford) Shagonaby

Joyce M. Shagonaby, 74, of Harbor Springs, died March 24, 2023 at Hiland Cottage.

Joyce was born July 16, 1948, in San Francisco, California, the daughter of Horace and Margaret (Saurman) Hungerford. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Petoskey, Michigan.

On August 17, 1990, she married Robert Shagonaby.

Joyce worked as a curator for the Blackbird Museum in Harbor Springs. She enjoyed crocheting blankets to gift to family and friends. She was a great cook. Joyce was very involved with her church family at Holy Childhood of Jesus in Harbor Springs.

She is survived by her husband Robert Shagonaby; children, Ken Schemke, Melissa (John) Leckner Jimmy Horton, Heidi (Dave) Hughes, and Matthew (Bonnie) Dickensheets; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

There will be a Funeral Mass at Holy Childhood on March 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation the hour prior. Father James Bearss will officiate. Burial will take place in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery. A graveside service will be held 9:00 AM on Friday, May 19th at Lakeview Cemetery in Harbor Springs.
