Julie Gayle Schoolcraft, 65, of Alanson, went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2022.
Julie was born January 29, 1957, the daughter of Keith and Linda (Whitney) Bunker. She attended school in St. Clair and Indian River.
She married the love of her life, George Schoolcraft on June 28, 1974.
In 1996, she obtained her nursing degree from North Central Michigan College and began working in the oncology department at Munson Hospital in Traverse City. She transferred to Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey and her last position was through VitalCare Hospice. She was a caregiver by nature and would often look after relatives and friends when they were sick.
In her spare time, Julie was crafting. She had a passion for all sorts of crafts from crochet, knitting, sewing, dressmaking, and painting. She had enough supplies “for a whole fabric store” in her home. She was also an amazing baker and made beautiful wedding cakes, famous caramel nut cinnamon rolls and other delicious treats.
Julie is survived by her husband of 48 years, George Schoolcraft; her children, Matt (Indy) Bunker, Faith (Tyler) Schmit, Sabrina (Scott) Thompson and Caleb (Kelli) Schoolcraft; 14 grandchildren, Matthew Bunker, Jacob Bunker, Laine Sayers, Morgan Bunker, Noah Bunker, Hope Bunker, Abby Green, Casandra Schmit, Scott Thompson, Jr., Ashley Thompson, David Thompson, Derek Thompson, Collin Schoolcraft and Kaiden Schoolcraft; 10 great-grandchildren; and by her brothers, Neil (Rhoda) Bunker, Duane Bunker, Tracy Bunker, and Paul Bunker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Jenny Bunker and Linda and Don Cooper; and by her siblings, Alan Bunker and Cindy Mason.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Indian River Lions Club from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Arrangements are in the care of Stone Funeral Home.
