Vaughn was proud of the City of Cheboygan and he sat on the Cheboygan City Council and various committees from 1998-2006 and 2012-2016.
Vaughn enjoyed classic cars and was a member of the original Cheboygan Classic Car Club and Cheboygan Street Rods.
