April 2, 1924 ~ February 9, 2016 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Beth Ann Moulder, age 91, of Grant Township, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Brook Retirement Community in Cheboygan.

A lifelong resident of the area, Beth was born April 2, 1924 in Cheboygan, the daughter of Roy and Theo (Grant) Birdsall.  On July 5, 1941 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cheboygan, she married the love of her life, Fred Moulder, Jr.  Prior to his passing in 2013, they celebrated 72 years of devoted marriage to each other.  Beth formerly worked at Northern Orchard, Plymouth Industry, and Camp Walden, with her husband Fred.  Beth and Fred spent 43 winters in Florida, enjoying their retirement.  In the summer they enjoyed pontooning along the Black River to Black Lake.  The family always enjoyed her potato salad, baked beans, and her delicious fresh apple pie.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon (Joe) Drummond, and her son, Fred (Linda) Moulder, all of Cheboygan, five grandchildren, Todd Drummond, Tim Drummond, Wendy Neuenfeldt, Matt Moulder and Mary Ann Thrasher, seven great grandchildren, Mike and Ariel Neuenfeldt, Amber Wyant, Lisa and Todd Drummond, and Taylor and Clayton Thrasher, two great great grandchildren, Allison and Hannah Wyant, and three sisters in law, Barbara Moulder, Joyce Crist, and Nancy Birdsall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred in 2013, three brothers, Millard, Willard, and Richard Birdsall, three sisters, Ethel Temple, Edith Carrow, and Dorothy Southwell, three brothers in law, Harry, Gordon, and Roland, and four sisters in law, Dorothy Brown, Marion Bronson, Fannie VanCampen, and Verna Jean Moulder.

Mom, your passing is sad for us.  We have been blessed to have had you for many years.  Rest with dad, you have done a wonderful job as the Matriarch of our family.

Beth’s family would like to thank the entire staff from housekeeping, the kitchen, the nursing, and administration at the Brook of Cheboygan for the outstanding care above and beyond what was expected.  Also, to Hospice of the Straits, Vital Care, you were so wonderful during the final days keeping Beth comfortable with dignity.

A funeral service will be held at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in the spring, with the time and date to be announced.  Rev. Trevor Herm will officiate and burial will be at Pinehill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Beth’s name may be directed to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, or Hospice of the Straits.

Those wishing to share condolences or a memory of Beth are invited to sign an online register book at www.stonefuneralhomeinc.com.
