Donald Bartlett

Donald E. Bartlett, 78, of Black Lake, formerly Saginaw, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Tendercare of Cheboygan.
 
A permanent resident of Black Lake since 2000, and having vacationed in the area since 1966, Don was born June 28, 1937 in Saginaw, the son of Claude and Edna (Hoffman) Bartlett.  He was a graduate of Saginaw Arthur Hill High School, and later attended Delta College in Saginaw.  On September 12, 1959 in Saginaw, he married Barbara Backhus.  Don worked as a barber for 10 years, and then as an industrial electrician until 1995.  He was then employed by the Mackinac Bridge Authority until his retirement in 2002.  Don enjoyed playing the accordion in a polka band, and fishing on Black Lake
 
Surviving are his wife, Barbara, a daughter, Lori (Mark) Jacobs of Saginaw, and a son, Timothy (Amy) Bartlett of Bentley, three grandchildren, Justin Jacobs and Sarah Seaver, and Brooke Bartlett, and a great grandson, Gavin, a brother, Dale (Nancy) Bartlett of Frankenmuth, and many nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Donna.
 
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
 
Memorials may be made the Cheboygan Humane Society, the American Cancer Society, or to his family to be made to a charity of their wishes.
