Eileen M. (Vieau) Holbern

Eileen M. Holbern, 87, of Cheboygan, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Evergreen Living Center in St. Ignace.

A lifelong resident of Cheboygan, Eileen was born September 9, 1928 in Cheboygan, the daughter of George and Melvina (LaHaie) Vieau.  She was a graduate of Bishop Baraga Catholic School, and enjoyed cooking, baking, babysitting children, bingo, and was a member of St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church.

Surviving are her children, Candace Jarvis of Cheboygan, Sharon (David) Page of Florida, Richard (Diane) Holbern, also of Florida, William Holbern of Cheboygan, and Lisa Holbern (Brad Jewell), also of Cheboygan, a sister, Shirley (Earl) Armantrout of Levering, a daughter in law, Marjorie Ostwald, two sisters in law, Joanne Vieau of Cheboygan, and Jill Vieau of Rogers City, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, James Ostwald, a son in law, Paul Jarvis, three sisters, Mabel Brugh, Clara Blume, and Rose Basore, and six brothers, Elric, Lawrence, Donald, Alvin, Joe, and Earl Vieau.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00am, with visitation beginning at 10:00am, at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan.  Rev. James Gardiner will officiate, burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
