I’m a little late. I just came across this and remembered my mother, Lydia Atherton talking about Evvy. I don’t remember much of my childhood, but I remember Aunt Evvy. I’m sorry for my late condolences to all that had a chance to be close to her. So very sorry for your loss.

We were very sorry to hear about the loss of Evelyn. She was so kind and caring, and took very good care of Bill. She was wonderful to Bernice, and kind to all others. We send our deepest sympathy to you, and will keep her in our prayers.

If women hold up half the world then Evie was the woman who held up the whole world. She was there for anyone and everyone and never had a judgemental word or thought for others. It breaks my heart to lose her but I will rememer her in every kind deed and act of selflessness I see. Not every son knows what has been lost, but Dennis, you do. And you have honored her in a way the rest of us can only hope to.
