Glenn Anderson

February 5, 1920 ~ April 26, 2016 (age 96) 96 Years Old



Glenn E. Anderson, 96, of Cheboygan, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Hospice House in Cheboygan.
Glenn was born February 5, 1920 in Cheboygan, the son of Edward and Violet (Romblom) Anderson.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, being stationed in the Philippines.  In 1947, he married Muriel A. Anderson in Minneapolis, Minnesota.   Glenn was employed by Consumers Energy for 35 years, retiring in 1982 as a system power controller supervisor.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, entertaining his grandchildren, working in the woods/yard, gardening and traveling.  He was a very active member of Cheboygan Evangelical Covenant Church and served the Lord faithfully throughout his life.  All who knew him would agree that he lived one of the most disciplined role models of a Godly life. Glenn was a very devoted husband and an exemplary father.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 
Glenn’s family would like to thank everyone at Hospice of the Straits for the excellent care that Glenn received while under their care.
 
Surviving are his wife, Muriel; his children, Karen (David) Stowers of Coloma, Michigan,  Marlene (Brent) McCumons of Cheboygan, Cheryl (James) Elrod of South Bend, Indiana, and Bradley (Deborah) Anderson of Rochester, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Massey, Irene Wright, and Ruth (James) Gundry, a brother, Raymond (Beverly) Anderson, all of Cheboygan, along with many nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Lillian Kihn.
 
A memorial service, with Rev. Timothy Beam officiating, will be held at Cheboygan Evangelical Covenant Church on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with a luncheon immediately following.  The family will greet guests from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Cheboygan. 

Memorials may be made to Cheboygan Evangelical Covenant Church or Hospice of the Straits.
