Mary,
I just read about Joyce's passing in the New Review and wanted to let you know I am thinking about you. I believe I only met her a couple of times...one being when I visited you at your home in Boyne City gathering information for your induction into the Petoskey Athletic Hall of Fame. Joyce was a kind woman, and I know she was your soulmate for many years. These next few weeks will be a celebration of her life...and the weeks and months that follow will be contemplative...and lonely. I have not experienced a loss such as this...but years ago...when both of my parents died their spirits settled in my heart...and have always been there. Joyce's spirit will be weave around you and through you every day. Warmly, Cindy Okerlund #14PHSBB

My sympathies to Mary and family. I have some of the best memories of Miss Baker...I refused to participate in gym class so Miss Baker agreed to allow me to do book reports in order to pass her class. Once I went to her house because my mom thought it was a good idea for me to help butcher chickens! Great woman, you will be missed.

Sending my deepest sympathies to Mary and the rest of her family. May she R.I.P. She was a good teacher. God bless her. Michele (Houser) Rochon
