Patrick A. Topolinski, 74 of Boyne City, died March 8, 2017 at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek, MI.

Patrick was born on January 5, 1943 in Petoskey, the son of Edward and Mary (Carson) Topolinski and was raised on his family’s farm in Boyne City.  He graduated from Boyne Falls High School with the class of 1960.  After high school, he joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany where he served two years. Following the Army, Patrick was employed at General Motors in Flint, MI.

On August 10, 1968, Patrick married Gwendolyn Middleton and together they made their home in Boyne City.  Over the years, Patrick worked for Boyne Falls Log Homes, various heating cooling contractors and finally working and retiring from the maintenance department at Honeywell.  After retirement, he liked to keep busy helping his friends at Matelski Lumber in Boyne Falls.

Patrick was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.  For the Knights of Columbus, he organized a truck raffle for numerous years and helped out on many pancake breakfasts.  Patrick was also a supporter of the Boyne Falls Polish Festival where he was very involved with the horse pull.

Patrick enjoyed being in his garage and hunting and fishing with friends.  He made many trips to the UP.  He also had good times with his grandchildren, from decorating bikes for parades to watching their sporting events. In recent years, he spent time with his family and traveled to the NHRA championship in Indianapolis, to North Carolina for his son’s wedding, and visited Graceland in Memphis, TN.  He will be greatly missed.

Patrick is survived by his two children; Lisa (Topolinski) and Roger Froehlich and Patrick and Kelly (Wade) Topolinski, 2 grandchildren, Chandler and Zoe Froehlich, a sister Carole (Topolinski) Fraser, brother William (Mary) Topolinski and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gwen, parents Edward and Mary and brother Warren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 10th from 6-8 pm at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 11th at 11:00 am in the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Boyne Falls.  Burial will take place in the spring at the St. Augustine Cemetery in Boyne Falls.
