Viola V. McNamara

   Viola V. McNamara 93 of Harbor Springs passed away  Feb. 1, 2016. at  McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital.

   Viola was born May 7, 1922 in Good Hart, the daughter of John P. and Agnes (Gibson) Lasley. She attended school in Good Hart and Harbor Springs. She married Willard “Bill” McNamara and the couple made their home in Harbor Springs. He died in 1976. Viola had worked as a cook at Nub’s Nob and at Stafford’s Bay View Inn and Pier Restaurant. She was a member of the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians.

   Viola enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

   Viola is survived by her son Dexter and his wife Deborah of Petoskey, her daughter Cheryl Cranick and her husband Bryan of Harbor Springs, grandchildren Billy, Derek, Shane, Manice, great grandchildren Macklin, Jada, Gunnar and Sophie. Also surviving are her sister Mary Lou Bowers and her brothers John and Duane.

   Viola was preceeded in death by her brothers Gordon, Stanley, Roger and Milo and by her sisters Myrtle, Evelyn and Frieda.
