Virginia A. "Jenny" Carrier

Virginia "Jenny" A. Carrier, age 63, of Indian River passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 4, 1953 in Cheboygan, the daughter of Duane and Marion (LeBlanc) Darling. On September 4, 1970, while a senior at Lansing Eastern High School, she married Craig Carrier and graduated in 1971.

Jenny had worked as a Collections Agent at the State Employees Credit Union in Lansing and retired in 2010 after 30 years of service. She and Craig also owned and operated C&J Excavating and Pole Barns of Indian River where she worked as the "CEO". She was a kind and gracious hostess and enjoyed taking care of her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Craig of Indian River, three children, Kelly (Mary) Carrier of Okemos, Sheela Carrier of Lansing and Diann (Wende) Vsetula of St. Johns and four grandchildren, Sebastian, Sam and Madelyn Carrier and Colin Munsell-Carrier.

A memorial service will take place on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River with the family greeting friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of the Straits.
