Anna Elizabeth (Rapai) Clavier was called home on Saturday, October 15, 2016 by the Lord because he needed a special Angel.  She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Anna was born on August 30, 1918 in Antwerp, OH to Joseph and Rose (Nagy).  Anna and her family later moved to Flat Rock, MI.  She completed her education through the tenth grade.  She worked in the sugar beet fields with her father and the rest of the family, along with house cleaning for families in the area.  Anna worked in the bomber plant in Detroit at the start of the war.  She married August Clavier on May 1, 1943.  While August served in World War II, Anna lived with her parents and their son Richard Clavier was born on February 18, 1944.

When her husband returned home from the war, they moved north of Levering, MI to live with August’s parents.  She sang in the choir and taught Sunday school.  They then moved to Alpena, MI in 1953.  She was a homemaker who loved to sew, crochet and cook – always trying new recipes.  She made over 300 lap afgans which she donated to a special nursing home in Georgia.  Her favorite pastime was shopping for her grandchildren.

Anna moved to Boyne City in 2001 where she made many friends and wonderful neighbors.  Her husband passed in April 2008.

She is survived by her son Richard (Carol) Clavier; grandchildren Jeffery (Rhonda) Clavier of Middleville, MI, David (Lisa) Clavier of East Jordan, MI, Cynthia Clavier of Trenton, MI and Julie (Mike) Distel of Limerick, PA; greatgrandchildren Branden Clavier of Grand Rapids, MI, Stephanie Clavier, Kent Clavier, Crystal Clavier of East Jordan, MI, Zachery and Jesse Clavier of Middleville, MI, Olivia and Emily Distel of Limerick, PA; great greatgrandchild Hope Clavier of Denver, CO; sisters Helen Rees of Carleton, MI, Thereasa Wegienka of Romulus, MI; and brother-in-law Orville Hammer of Monroe, MI.
