James "Rebel" Pugh

James “Rebel” Pugh, 78, of Pellston, passed away Tuesday October 17, 2017 at home.

A resident of Pellston for the past 30 years, moving from Tennessee, James was born June 16, 1939 in Boydton, Virginia, the son of James and Mildred (McDaniel) Pugh.  In 1991 in Harbor Springs, he married Linda Rosebahm.  James worked as a heavy equipment operator for Louisiana Pacific in Newberry for 24 years, and most recently as a prep cook at Boyne Highlands in Harbor Springs.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, and occasional visits to the casino, and was a member of the Newberry Eagles Club, and the Levering and Indian River Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife, Linda, two daughters, Sarah (Jim) Collier of Pellston, and Kris (Jesse) Robin of Brutus, two sons, James Pugh of Sacramento, California, and Jeff Pugh of Jackson, six grandsons, Corey, Tyler, Owen, Ryan, Dylan, and Jacob, three granddaughters, Emily, Olivia, and Clare, a special aunt, Violet McDaniel of Chesapeake, Virginia, four sisters, Annie and Karen, and Doris, all of Mississippi, and Nancy of Alabama, and a brother, Marshall of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his in laws, Clarence and Faye Rosebahm.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:00pm, with the family greeting friends beginning at noon, at the Boyne Highlands Country Club in Harbor Springs.
