Pauline (Rynshoven) Hand

Pauline Hand, 85, of Alanson, Michigan, died November 18, 2015 at home.

Pauline was born December 5, 1929, the daughter of James and Claire Rynshoven. She grew up in Detroit and came to live in Petoskey to finish up her senior year of high school. It was at a dance, her senior year that she met Gail Hand.

On May 2, 1948, she married the love of her life, Gail.

Pauline found pleasure in the everyday activities of keeping her house clean and cooking for her family. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling the country and camping with her husband. She also loved spending time with her dog, Heidi.

Her family remembers her as being good humored, strong willed and also always a classy lady.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula (Bill) Cole of Holland, Ohio; grandchildren, Angie (Andy) Myers and Julie (Jeff) Payette; great grandchildren, Ava Myers, Caty Payette and Josh Payette; a sister-in-law, Roxie Rynshoven; and a daughter-in-law, Lori Hand.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Gail Hand; an infant daughter, Lynn Hand; her son, Jim Hand; brother, Pete Rynshoven; her Aunt, Frankie Reusch; and her parents, James and Claire Rynshoven.
