On the early morning of April 27, William “Bill” Behling entered into the waiting arms of his Savior.

Bill was born March 25, 1952 in Petoskey, the son of Raymond and Eloise (Niver) Behling. He was a graduate of Boyne City High School in 1971.  After graduation, Bill served in the United States Army from 1972-1977 then again from 1984-1988 and was honorably discharged. He was especially proud to serve his country. Bill worked at Lexamar in Boyne City, until a stroke forced his retirement and yet was the stage for which his character, attitude and determination to overcome was showcased as an example to all.  Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and time with family and friends.  He is best characterized by his loyal friendship and a spirit of service to friends, family and community. He was involved in many activities at Grandvue and was known by his advocacy for himself and others through patient council. He led the charge to have smelt on the menu for he and other residents.   Bill was most proud of his grandchildren and took great delight in following all of their activities whether it be hunting, fishing, or 4H.

Bill’s family would like to thank all the staff of Grandvue for their faithful and excellent care of Bill. He held a special place in his heart for the night crew and rose early in the morning to greet and visit with them.

He is survived by his children, Raymond Joseph (Jasmine) Behling, Megan (Jeremy Hanna) Behling. Grandchildren, Kanden age 12, Gage age 9, Amira age 5 and Jodi age 2.
