Carl A. Tippett

Carl Ashton Tippett, 79, died on April 21, 2017 at Bay Bluffs Medical Care Facility.

Carl was born on August 3, 1937, the son of John and Sarah (Brown) Tippett. He grew up in Harbor Springs and was a graduate of Harbor Springs High School.

On October 15, 1960, he married Agnes Taylor. They spent 56 happy years together.

Carl enjoyed the companionship of his dogs over the years, all of which were dalmatians. He also liked to go deer hunting.

Carl worked for Fotchman's as inventory control for many years. Later, Carl started working at Odawa Elementary School as a custodian. It was always a fun day at school when Carl would bring one of his dalmatians along with him as a treat for the kids. Carl enjoyed the connections he made with the children at Odawa and worked there until his retirement.

Carl is survived by his wife Agnes Tippett; his brother, Jerry (Wilma) Tippett; sisters, Ellen Schrier and Mary Belle Gregory; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Tippett. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Horace, John, Paul, Jim, Marion, Fred and George.

There will be a graveside service at Lakeview Cemetery in Harbor Springs on Friday, April 28 at 3:00 p.m.
